THE sounds of Mozart, Albinoni and Vivaldi will float over Ross-on-Wye when an orchestra and a group of singers get in concert for charity, writes ANITA HOWELLS.
The Penyard Singers and the Brecknock Sinfonia hope to raise at least £2,000 for Acorns' new children's hospice at their performance in St Mary's Church.
The concert on Saturday, April 26, at 7.30pm, will involve three works by Antonio Vivaldi and well-known works by Mozart and Albinoni. Soloists, Sarah Hall, Joanne Winfer and Helen Hall, all from the Ross area, will also sing Mozart's motet, Ave Verum Corpus.
The money will be donated to Acorns' £4million Three Counties Appeal to build a new 10-bed hospice for up to 180 terminally ill children in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
Tickets cost £7 each, or £3.50 for students, and are available from: the Acorns shop in Ross; Ross Heritage Centre, Ross Market Hall; Outback in Hereford; Monmouth Music Box and The Penyard Singers Box Office on 01989 562525.
