GIVING little ones with awful illnesses 'the best that money can buy' is the aim of a Ledbury fundraiser who is focusing on getting Acorns Childrens Hospice finished.
Mike Marshall's 60th birthday bash when he invited everyone to a pig roast and an auction meant another £2,700 towards laying the final bricks of the hospice.
He said: "Thank you to all the traders and friends who supported it. It went very well on the night and we had some lovely gifts which were auctioned on the night boosting the final total."
Next year Mike hopes to take a trip from Ledbury to Lands End with the help of Oscar his five-year-old horse pulling an original Reading Romany horse drawn caravan.
"I just felt I had to do something for the children before I leave this planet. I aim to get this hospice up and running. The children want the best that money can buy and have a tiny bit of enjoyment," said Mike.
Anyone who can help with the renovation of the caravan - which will be auctioned after the event - or those offering sponsorship or donations should call Mike on 01531 633763.
