COURAGEOUS cashier, Karen Cheesley went against doctor's advice and took part in Race for Life in memory of her granny and uncle.
Karen, who was part of the Tesco team, took an hour and a half to complete the course because of a bad leg.
Encouraged by her fellow team members, when they realised Karen was still on the course, they rushed back to meet her.
Customer services advisor, Mo Cheshire said: "We thought she had finished and gone for a beer but she was still on the course so we decided to cheer her on. She was so courageous - we are very proud of her!"
