Ledbury Town returned to winning West Midland Premier Division ways with a hard-earned victory away at lowly Ettingshall.
ETTINGSHALL HT 2, LEDBURY TOWN 3
Ledbury started the game with a flat back four and were never in trouble.
A Stuart Hall goal, following good work by Stu Smith, Rob Colwell and Hall himself, gave the visitors a 1-0 half time lead.
Defensive mistakes early in the second half saw Ettingshall take the lead with goals by John Mills and Jamie Stanier.
Ledbury then brought on the impressive Scott Mason and he immediately put his mark on the match when he created an opening for Duncan Preedy to equalise and put Ledbury right back in the game.
Ledbury then further stepped up the pressure and from Mark Brookes' cross Nick Welch popped up to slot home the winning goal in the 86th minute.
Although sitting in tenth place, Ledbury are only four points behind Newport in fourth place and 17 points behind leaders Malvern, with five games in hand.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury visit Helenic League side Ross United, who have not lost in their league this season, in the HFA Senior Cup semi-final, kick off 2pm.
It is 25 years since Ledbury last won the County Cup and they have only been in the final once. They will hope to be in the form they were in the previous round when they knocked out trophy holders Westfields.
Ledbury Town have a League Cup tie away at Kington Town on Tuesday (January 13) and then return to league action the following Saturday (January 17) when they welcome derby rivals and table-toppers Malvern Town (2.45pm).
