A GOLDEN Valley protest group renews its opposition to a proposed waste treatment plant by driving hundreds of cars through Hereford city centre on Saturday.
Members from Waste Watchers have organised the mass demonstration to oppose Estech Europe Ltd's plan to build a multi-million pound processing facility in Stoney Street, Madley.
Group spokesperson Christine Johnson-Marshall said the increase in traffic brought about by the new development would affect people living in Hereford as well as those in the countryside.
"People in Clehonger, Kingstone and Madley now understand just what is at stake if this massive factory goes ahead," she said. "But those living in the city are not aware of the dramatic consequences should the council approve the plans, and that is why we are going to make everyone aware this weekend."
The group are meeting at Stoney Street at 8.30am on Saturday before leaving in convoy towards Belmont Road and heading towards Hereford city centre via Victoria Street.
