Wellington 0 Bustleholme 1
WELLINGTON manager Wyn Owen described his team's performance against fellow West Midlands League Premier Division mid-table opponents Bustleholme as 'extremely disappointing throughout'.
Indeed the villagers failed to cash in against a team who were reduced to 10 players after their striker was red- carded in the 15th minute for foul and abusive language, when a win would have lifted them up to a challenging sixth position.
The first-half play was confined to midfield with very few chances being created and home goalkeeper Marcus Priday only having to deal with a couple of crosses.
Although depleted, the visitors reorganised with their experienced midfield frustrating all of Wellington's attacking ideas.
With 10 minutes left to play, Bustleholme took advantage of sloppy home defending to score the decisive goal when several defenders failed to clear a high ball into the middle of the Wellington box.
The ball eventually broke to Rob Sargeant who, although forced wide by Priday, managed to squeeze the ball home.
Wellington tried to get back on terms but Andy Price blazed over when well placed, and a fine late run by Richard Jones was smothered.
