Kington will be Herefordshire's representatives in the semi-finals of the Ken Smith Trophy, the Shropshire & Hereford-shire seniors' scratch team pairs competition.
They booked a meeting with Ludlow after winning their section, which included Herefordshire GC and Bridgnorth.
Each club was represented by three pairs and, after sharing the honours with Herefordshire, losing the away match 2-1 but winning at home by the same margin, it all came down to the matches against Bridgnorth.
Kington beat the Shropshire visitors 3-0 and Herefordshire travelled to Bridgnorth to record a 2-1 victory.
The outcome was in Kington's hands and they squeezed out their county neighbours with a fine 3-0 away at Bridgnorth to book their semi-final place, the successful pairings being Rob Pritchard and Glyn Wictome, David Price and John Priday, and Doug Taylor and David Herman.
Hereford beat Bridgnorth 3-0 in the last match of the series but could not match Kington's total of nine points.
