Bromyard Town beat Ledbury Town 3-2 in a tremendous West Midlands Premier Division derby played on a difficult surface at Delahay Meadow.
BROMYARD TOWN 3, LEDBURY TOWN 2
Bromyard took the lead in the 12th minute when Mark Russell's through ball found Andy Crowther who outpaced the Ledbury defence and slid the ball under the advancing keeper.
Danny Hilditch made it 2-0 in the 25th minute heading home a free kick but the visitors came back into the match, Duncan Preedy scoring just before the interval to make it 2-1.
After the break Ledbury piled on the pressure with the home team tiring and it was no surprise when they levelled through leading scorer Robbie Colwell on 58 minutes.
It looked as though the visitors would press on and win the game but Bromyard's keeper Adie Hipkins had an inspired game and somehow kept them at bay with a number of first class saves.
With just minutes remaining another through ball found Carl Fairhurst who cleverly held the ball up and then played Russell in who smashed an unstoppable shot to seal the points for the home side.
Bromyard Town are away in the Premier Division at Heath Hayes tomorrow (Saturday) and are on their travels again on Saturday, January 10, when they visit Shawbury United.
Both matches kick-off at 2.45pm.
