Chaddesley Corbett 1 Hinton 2
HINTON netted a goal in each half to win an end-to-end encounter with fellow mid-table opponents in Division 1 South of the West Midlands League.
Both sides started well in an open entertaining game. Hinton took the lead midway through the half when Matt Smalley fed Ross Semple through the middle and he confidently slotted it past the advancing keeper.
They continued to press forward before Chaddesley netted the equaliser. A through ball was lobbed goalwards from fully 30 yards and left keeper Steve Griffiths stranded. The home team started confidently after the break, but Hinton gradually wore them down.
Smalley again set up the goalscoring chance. John Williams brought his pass neatly under control, before blasting it home from 15 yards. Ross Semple had a goal disallowed for offside and Darren Birch had his shot well saved by the keeper as the visitors took control. The home team rallied in the final 10 minutes, but the resolute Hinton defence stood firm to secure the points.
