Hereford still remain uncomfortably close to the foot of the Gerrard West of England and South Wales League North Division 1 table after being held to a 4-4 draw by visiting Bristol University 2nd.
A well-taken goal put Bristol ahead and they retained their lead until early in the second period when Daiyle Door and John Mundy scored to put Hereford ahead.
Bristol quickly equalised and then went in front before Door levelled again with his second of the match.
The University side pulled ahead once more when Andy Rogers conceded a penalty before man-of-the-match Door completed his hat-trick to earn Hereford's fifth draw in their 10 games to date.
Despite fielding a weakened side, Leominster proved too good for Gloucester City and came away with a 3-0 win which kept them in fourth place in North Division 2.
Leominster opened in sensational style when they took the lead virtually straight from the start. Josh Watkins won the ball and raced away to score with just seconds on the clock.
Rob Goodman converted a penalty flick to extend the lead and Leominster might have been even further in control at the interval had Toby Johnson not failed with a routine chance on the stroke of half time.
Skipper Dave Harvey, with his first goal of the season, extended the lead after the break and with Sam Johnson in fine form at the back, the Leominster defence was never seriously troubled.
Hereford 2nd are in third spot in North-East West District 1 after two goals from Alistair Owen helped them to a 3-2 win over Bristol 3rd.
Tom Jackson opened the scoring for Hereford with a superb strike from the top of the area and Owen took advantage of a chance in the area to add the second.
Bristol pulled a goal back but Owen added his second with 10 minutes to play when he ran from the half-way line to smash a shot past the goalkeeper.
Bristol reduced arrears with their second goal two minutes from the end but Hereford held on comfortably to earn the three points.
Leominster 2nd are keeping pace with Hereford 2nd and remain level on points with their county rivals after racing to a 5-0 win over bottom club Cheltenham 4th.
The young Cheltenham side battled bravely but were powerless to resist as Leominster pulled away in the first half with goals from Simon Maxwell (2), man-of-the-match Josh Davies and Ian Johnson.
Johnson scored again in the second period as Leominster eased their pressure.
Cheltenham created few scoring chances but when they did break through they found Ed Goldsmith, who made a couple of fine saves in the Leominster goal, in unbeatable form.
Second-placed Old Bristolians 3rd proved too strong for Hereford 3rd in North-East West District 2, emerging as 4-2 winners, and, in the division below, leaders Clevedon pipped Ross-on-Wye 2-1.
With both regular goalkeepers unavailable, Ross skipper Andy Ridgway found himself between the posts and soon picking the ball out of the net when Clevedon quickly opened the scoring.
But, generally, the Ross defence of Sam Warner, Tim Jones and Mick Rowan did well to keep the ball away from Ridgway who only had a couple of first-half shots to save.
A scrappy second goal was hard on Ross but it spurred the home side to even greater efforts, passing and moving the ball around the pitch.
Finally, Ross won a short corner and Andy Layton squeezed the ball home but, try as they might, an equaliser was not forthcoming.
But, in North-East West District 4, Hereford 4th cemented their position as the division's top scorers with Chris Moody in irresistible form as he netted six times in a convincing 7-0 success against South Glos 3rd.
Two precise passes from John Tooley opened up the defence for Moody who latched on to another fine pass from Nigel Mundy to complete a hat-trick before the break.
Gaps opened up in the visitors' defence for Moody to compile a second treble after the interval when Ben Greenwood rounded off the scoring with an excellent shot.
