LEINTWARDINE & Brampton Bryan CC members were looking forward as much as back when they held their annual presentation dinner at Brampton Bryan Village Hall.
The club is keenly anticipating a tour to South Africa next year when 15 players, and a handful of non-players, will fly out for two weeks on March 6. There will be five games of cricket and plenty of sightseeing as they work their way along the Garden Route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.
Bryn Alford was named player of the year, Chris Shermer most improved player, and Josh Lloyd, young player of the year.
There was a special award to Rod Layton for his efforts in maintaining the pitch and the ground over the years.
Lawrie Steele was named Marden CC's player of the year when the villagers held their annual dinner and presentation evening at the Merton Hotel in Hereford.
The club, which amalgamated successfully with Wyesiders this year, also made awards to Craig Pratten, player of the year, Dave Bird, bowler of the year, and Rod Haslam, batsman of the year.
The awards were presented by club president Liz Bryon.
