Ledbury 20 pts Leamington 17
LEDBURY halted a six-match losing streak with a hard-earned but deserved victory over a strong Leamington side in Midlands 3 West (South).
Ledbury scored all their points in the first half and Leamington added only three in a second half which saw them press for victory, only to be held off by a fine defence.
Ledbury had opened the scoring with a penalty from the outstanding Barret Price. Olly Kaye, who also shone on his return to first-team action, then raced for a touch-down and Price added the conversion, quickly followed by a successful penalty.
Leamington hit back with two converted tries to lead 14-13, but a Tom Green try, again converted by Price, put Ledbury in the driving seat.
Leamington slotted a penalty early in the second half but that ended the scoring.
