Congratulations to Lion Eric Gregan and his wife Irene who celebrate (CELEBRATED depending on publication date) their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on December 4.. Last year Lion Eric received the highest award within Lions, the Melvyn Jones Fellowship, which honours the commitment of the recipient to humanitarian endeavours.
A totals of £300 was recently raised for Leominster guides and scouts at a quiz night organised by Leominster Lion Colin Tether, on behalf of the club, at The Royal Oak Hotel. The winning team, the Houdinis, captained by town clerk John Wesley, was awarded the much-coveted Wiseway Cup.
Leominster Lions Club funded the hire of Ivington Community Centre when it was used by Leominster Guild of Natural Health Practitioners for their caring for carers day recently. This is an annual event to pamper people who have little time for themselves.
Father Christmas will be on the Lions Sleigh in Broad Street at the Victorian Fayre on Saturday and in the woodland setting of Queenswood on December 20 and 21 so that the children can visit him.
The winning tickets for the Leominster Lions Christmas raffle in aid of Leominster's new swimming pool, will be drawn by Roger Hunt, chairman of the New Sydonia Pool and Recreation Appeal, at 4pm at the Victorian Street Fayre. Tickets are available from several shops in town and will be on sale at the Lions stall during the Fayre.
