Hereford Save the Children Group chairman and Dilwyn resident June Chase organised an intimate concert of carols and readings in the College Hall Cloisters of Hereford Cathedral. The Ven John Tiller welcomed the 75 guests in the newly refurbished hall where David Huke accompanied the Hereford Chamber Choir, conducted by director Howard Briggs. A similar event was held in the then rather grim hall last year before its refurbishment. What a difference a year makes. Contrasting white paintwork and sparkling chandeliers set off the now bold coral red walls and wooden panelling. After the event, members and friends served mulled wine and mince pies. Christmas gifts were on sale boosting the evenings proceeds to £600.
