IT WAS full steam ahead at the weekend when a series of events took place to celebrate the coming of the railways to Hereford.
Local railway historian and author Gordon Wood, who spent 18 months organising the weekend, was delighted at the response from exhibitors and the public.
"The model steam locomotives in Maylord shopping centre on Saturday were a particular hit with everyone" Gordon said, "and Sunday's Swapmeet at the Leisure Centre was packed all day as collectors swapped model cars and railways."
