A Leominster auction house is facing a festive season upheaval.
Brightwells is relocating its Fine Art Sale Room at Ryelands Road to the former cattle market site at the north end of the A49 Leominster Bypass.
The firm said this week that sales were booming and the old premises had become too cramped.
The new building, Easters Court, was nearly three times the size and offered huge scope for business expansion. The site is already the venue for vehicle sales. New specialist sales and sections being added to the existing calendar.
Said Brightwells' head of fine art, David Brown: "The move to the new building offers an exciting possibility of not only improving our service to existing clients but adding to the number and the variety of the sales.
"In addition, by increasing the number of free valuation days, we hope to make things easier for those wishing to enter items for sale"
"We already hold specialist ceramics and toy sales and this year have added specialist sections of textiles, militaria, coins and medals."
Mr Brown said the sale room move would take place over Christmas, to keep disruption to a minimum. The first sale at the new site will take place on January 14 and 15.
