Members of Newent and District Craftworkers' Guild are celebrating one of their most successful Christmas shows, thanks in part to rainy weather last Saturday.
Marianne Trevis, who was selling goats milk soap and hand-knitted Norwegian-type children's wear, said: "I wasn't expecting it to be very good, because I thought the rain would put people off.
"But it was fine actually, because people were coming to shelter from the downpour.
"There was a steady stream all day long and I had one of my best day's trade in Newent, making about £100."
Around the 25 stalls were provided by members of the group, in their last event of 2003.
