A Pencombe pub has been named the Best Country Pub and runner-up in the Pub of the Year competition run by the Herefordshire Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The Wheelwright Arms won the award for its range and quality of beer and the vital role it plays in the village.
Licensees Sue and Colin Clark have been running the pub for six and a half years.
"We were absolutely delighted," said Colin. "It was one of our ambitions to turn the pub into a very good real ale community pub."
The CAMRA judges were particularly impressed with how the pub met the village's social needs, even hosting a Farmers' Market.
"A lot of people grow vegetables and on a Friday evening they bring their excess veg and swap it or barter it," said Mr Clark.
