ST PETER'S Primary School, Bromyard, has been judged "a very effective school", by Government inspectors.
The school, which has 230 full- time pupils and a nursery, was rated good, very good or excellent in all areas considered by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) officials, who inspected in October and published their report last week.
It was deemed to have eliminated any weaknesses identified at the school's last inspection in 1999.
Headteacher Martin Holt said he was very excited by the news.
"It's a nice position to be in. There were no comments that were negative," he said.
When Ofsted inspects schools it judges different areas on a scale from excellent - grade 1 - to very poor - grade 7.
All of the grades given to St Peter's were 1, 2 or 3.
"We are celebrating the fact it has become a positive experience and from that we feel inspired to get better, making the goods very goods and the very goods excellents," said Mr Holt.
He added that everybody in the school came out well in the report, from the teaching assistants to the office staff and particularly the children.
The only improvement the inspectors suggested was that the school's management plan was condensed to make it more user-friendly and Mr Holt said this was being addressed.
