MADLEY Primary School has gained top marks from Ofsted inspectors.
Inspectors say standards in English and mathematics are well above the national average when pupils reached 11.
This is largely down to the efforts of the staff, who had high expectations of attainment and helped pupils achieve the standards required.
The inspection team, which visited the 150-pupil school in July, praised the strong and decisive leadership and the quality of teaching, which leads to a very good climate for learning.
One particular feature of the school, highlighted in the report, is the strong partnership with parents.
This is described as providing a considerable enhancement to the confidence pupils have in the school and the quality of learning.
Areas of improvement identified by inspectors include the development of the school library and looking at the number of absence days 'allowed'.
Overall inspectors found the school was very good and provided very good value for money.
