HEREFORDSHIRE Schools have achieved the best value added performance figures in the West Midlands for Key Stage 2 pupils tested in 2003.
The county came in the top 40 nationally out of 150 Local Education Authorities and Herefordshire pupils chalked up an overall average points score of 27.6 against a national average of 27.4 in the SATs.
Of the 82 schools tested, 17 smaller schools with fewer than 10 pupils who took the test do not figure in the performance tables.
Schools are listed in alphabetical order and SEN stands for the number of pupils with special educational needs.
In the key subjects of English, maths and science at Level 4 and Level 5 results are expressed as a percentage. Two value added figures are given as a percentage for national statistical comparisons but Herefordshire Schools all perform within a narrow band around the target.
Head of School Improvement for Herefordshire Ted St George said: ''We are very pleased with the results of the Key Stage 2 tests in 2003 and encouraged that the new value added performance figures show we are doing well against our statistical neighbours in the West Midlands.''
