NATURAL HEALTH CENTRE - On the first Saturday in every month Presteigne Natural Health Centre, at The Old Surgery in St David's Street, holds a drop-in clinic, which offers free advice on a range of treatments. The next clinic is on Saturday from 10 am to mid-day, when the therapist on duty will be Adrian Stott, who is a Remedial Masseur. Adrian has worked at the centre since it first opened, over seven years ago, and can advise on which type of treatment might be best for your particular problem. There are seven therapists working from the Centre, practising Acupuncture, Bowen technique, Reflexology, Homeopathy, Massage, Reiki therapy and Osteopathy.
BOWLING CLUB - The next special Prize and Cash Bingo evening, organised by Presteigne Bowling Club, is on Saturday and then again on the following Saturday, December 13. Doors will open at 6.30 pm, with eyes down at approximately 7.45 pm, in the Memorial Hall. Prizes include a portable TV, DVD player and CD player - and there will be a prize hamper, with goods to the value of £135, for each of the evenings.
THEATR POWYS - On Saturday, December 13, Mid Border Arts presents Theatr Powys in Morgiana's Dance, in The Ivor Hughes Centre at John Beddoes. The performance starts at 7.30 pm, with tickets costing £5/4. Booking on 01597 824444.

KINSHAM CHURCH - After recording fame last week, when the BBC Hereford and Worcester team arrived to record their Advent service with the congregation at All Saints. This week sees a Concert for Kinsham in the church at 7.30 pm on Saturday. Everyone is invited to enjoy a miscellany of songs from the shows, comic songs, pop classics - and a little something for Christmas as well - performed by the Rector and Friends. Tickets are £6, including wine, and all proceeds are for the church funds.
TWINNING ASSOCIATION - Presteigne and Norton Twinning Association are holding a French Wine and Cheese evening at the Radnorshire Arms on Saturday, December 6. The evening starts at 8 pm with a selection of wines and cheeses presented by Cellar Wines Direct of Cardiff. Music will be provided by the Whitton Singers, and there will be a gift auction. DISCOED CHURCH - The Friends of St. Michael's, Discoed, invite everyone to a performance of Edward Storey's The Innkeeper's Wife, on Sunday at 3.30 pm. Written and produced by Edward Storey, this Christmas tale for our time, will be performed by Friends of St Michael's and members of the congregation, and with the St. Michael's Singers, directed by Marion Rowlatt. There will be seasonal light refreshments at the end of the performance, which is in aid of the St. Michael's Church Restoration Fund.
ARTMART - Christmas gifts and bargain buys, hot punch, music and mince pies in the Assembly Rooms on Saturday, December 6, from 9am until 4pm. There will be paintings, pots, textiles, sculpture, metalwork, glassware, furniture, jewellery and cards.
FILM FANS - Flicks in the Sticks are showing My Big Fat Greek Wedding in Lingen Village Hall on Tuesday, December 9, at 7. 30 pm. This film was a surprise hit in 2002, a romantic comedy following the story of an American-Greek woman, planning to marry a non-Greek man to the horror of her family.
EARLY WARNING - Presteigne Gardening Club are holding their annual meeting and a wine and cheese party, in the Memorial Hall on December 15; Llanandras Christmas Fair is on Saturday, December 20, with Father Christmas in his Grotto from noon until 4.30 pm, and entertainment in the High Street from 2pm to 5pm. Join in the torchlight procession, led by Father Christmas, at 5 pm; then, in the evening, go along to St. Andrew's at 7.30 pm, for a Christmas Carol Party, with carol singing, a children's play and seasonal refreshments.

JOHN BEDDOES SCHOOL - For the third year running the carol service will feature a community choir consisting of singers from local choral societies, parents and friends of the school, together with staff and students. There are three evening rehearsals planned in the hope that interested singers will be able to attend at least one.
