Kington professional Andy Gealy led his team of club members Bert Priday, Steve Knight and Nick Layton to a splendid win in the latest Shropshire and Herefordshire Winter Alliance meeting at Worfield.
With the best two scores counting on each hole, they posted a superb aggregate of 94 stableford points, with Layton taking the top amateur prize with 44 points.
Highlight of the success was an eagle two by Priday on the stroke index two, par-four hole, where he holed his seven-iron second shot for a useful five points.
Gill Lloyd bagged her first ace in Kington ladies' winter pairs stableford but she and her partner, Lynn Herman, had to be content with third place.

n The league stage of the Hereford Municipal winter pairs competition is approaching a conclusion with qualifiers from the four groups dependent on the result of the last round of matches.
In group one David Davies and Andrew Vivian lead the way with four points, one ahead of Pam Williams and Tony Williams who have played one game fewer.
Steve Horton and Edward Webb lead group two with Lesley Turbutt and Andy Bowen and the pairs, who have six points apiece, meet in the last game to decide the winners of the section.
