Kington'S new mayor is councillor Ros Bradbury, it was revealed during the town council meeting on Monday night.

Councillor Bradbury hopes to continue the good work of former mayor councillor Adrian Turner.

"She said: "I have always taken the view that as a member of the council I want to make a positive contribution to Kington. There are a number of things we can do for the town."

Coun Bradbury hopes to see more projects for young people going ahead including the skateboard park and the refurbishment of the children's play area.

"But we still need a centre for the young people in the town," she added.

Mr Robert Hussey was voted in as deputy mayor.
