WINTER is upon us, Legionnaires' disease has struck the county.
A flu epidemic is threatening. The Hereford Hospital Trust has made the decision to close Leadon Ward.
It has cancelled agency staff from December 1, so the current unsafe staffing levels will deteriorate even further.
It informs nurses that there are no vacancies and does not offer employment to newly qualified staff.
Acting chief executive, Graham Smith, has said that closure of a ward has proved operationally necessary, why?
He suggests putting beds in day rooms - absurd.
He proposed significant changes in bed management, meaning the discharge of patients before they are well. Mr Smith and his ilk need to return to the planet Zog!
Hereford people, local MPs, nurses (with decent Union backing) need to protest about what is being done to Hereford's Hospital.
The destruction of your NHS is being systematically carried out right under your noses.
