A team of 13 youngsters from the Newent Community School will take part in a mock trial tomorrow (Saturday) at Birmingham Crown Court.
The teenagers will be up against teams from other schools, but they have been helped with their preparation through coaching from the Birmingham-based barrister Adreeja Chatterjee.
On Monday, the team consisting of Year 11 and 12 students spent a whole day in the public gallery at Gloucester Crown Court, to witness proceedings and protocol during a real trial.
The Newent team have had several full-scale rehearsals for the contest, including one on Tuesday evening. Originally, the team were to have competed in the competition on November 22, but it was postponed for the new date.
Their co-ordinator for the competition is the school librarian Sue Lawrance.
