MATHON, Cradley & Storridge Tennis Club held their annual presentation evening at Strikes, Spring Lane, last Friday.
Over 40 members and friends enjoyed an evening that included a buffet supper, presentation of trophies for the year, skittles and a draw, organised by Pat Pugh, in aid of Children in Need which raised £126.
The trophies were presented by club chairman Peter Flagg to the following: Ladies singles - Sonja Sanderson, r/up Jean Roberts. Men's singles: Phil Toghill, r/up Tony Dalley. Ladies doubles: Ursula Mason & Sonja Sanderson, r-up Jane Facer & Pat Pugh. Men's doubles: Duncan Hannaford & Mark Wallbridge, r/up Chris Brandon-White & Martyn Comber. Mixed doubles: Pat Pugh & Duncan Hannaford, r/up Ursula Mason & Barrie Roberts.
League trophies were presented to the captains of the following teams: Ladies A winners of the Winter League Division Five, Men's A winners of Winter League Division Four and Mixed A winners of Winter League Division Five.
The club is always keen to hear from potential new members and would like to strengthen their league teams with some more experienced players who could help the teams consolidate their current positions in the higher divisions of the league.
