Ledbury's hockey girls had an excellent start to their season in the Herefordshire U16 Badger League.

It wasn't long before Ledbury settled into the game scoring their first goal within five minutes from Laura Entwistle, from the edge of the D, with the second coming quickly from Nicki Forecast.
With an onslaught of shots, which came thick and fast at Leominster's keeper, Ledbury were 6-0 up at half-time. Other scorers were Emily Colwall (two), Amy Gillespie (one), Sophie Wood (one).
During the second half, Leominster reorganised their team to try and cut down Ledbury's attacks. Leominster made several attacks but were kept back with fine defending from Alice Wood and Michelle Plenderlieth. The game was kept fast flowing by Laura Entwistle, Nicki Forecast and Vicky Metcalf in the midfield. Many of the younger players also showed fine promise.
In the last 10 minutes, Ledbury came back strongly with another barrage of shots, mostly kept out by the Leominster keeper. although Sophie Wood did grab two further goals to complete her hat-trick.
