Colwall got back to winning ways with a 7-2 win against St Gregory's at Hartpury College on Saturday following their defeat by Brockworth the previous week.

ST GREGORY'S 2, COLWALL 7

Coral Handley got Colwall off to a flying start with two goals in quick succession, both from balls passed through into the penalty area and long range shots.

St Gregory's pulled a goal back soon afterwards before Steph Fitzgibbon turned the ball in after the keeper had saved the first effort on goal, St Gregory's scored their second goal just before half time to make the score 3-2 at the break.

Colwall came out for the second half and immediately put pressure on the St Gregory's goal. Steph Fitzgibbon soon scored her second and Colwall's fourth, putting the ball in from close range at the back post. Sam Shail then intercepted a ball in midfield, ran into the area and scored with a fine shot.

St Gregory's counter attacked strongly, and only excellent defending by Colleen Rogers, Laura Entwhistle and Lucy Halligan, with saves from goal keeper Carole Ward, prevented them from scoring again.

Colwall then put the game beyond St Gregs with a good shot from Gemma Richards following a cross from Coral Handley, and a final goal from Sam Shail who deflected another cross from Handley into the roof of the net.

Colwall's next league match is against Shipton Oliffe at Ledbury Leisure Centre tomorrow (Saturday), starting at 2pm.
