LAST Sunday saw the first full complement of League games in The Soccer Site Malvern League for some considerable time with no cup competitions taking place.

It was business as usual in Division One with all of the top three teams winning, leaders Oak Allstars entertained fifth-placed Morgan Aero 8 and maintained their fine start to the season with a convincing 7-1 victory.

Oak's goals came from Jason Emery, Andy Smith, Zekley Coral, Neil Gardiner and the almost inevitable hat-trick from Jamie James, this after Morgan Aero 8 had opened the scoring through Richard Bird.

It was a much tighter contest at the Hill Centre where fourth-placed Talbot Head entertained second-placed Bishops Frome with the visitors taking the points with a 2-0 victory. Stewart Graham gave Frome the lead with a volley to maintain his recent scoring streak. In a well-contested match Talbot Head had their chances before Lee Harris tied the game up by following up a rebound after a good save by Talbot keeper Gary Baldwin.

Third-placed Club AC 30 took the points with a 5-1 victory over visitors Kempsey United A with goals from Dan Heywood, two from Sven De Feyter plus two from Paul Drew one of which was from all of 60 yards when his speculative shot bounced high over the visiting keeper. Kempsey's reply came from Chris Gardner.

The remaining Division One game saw AFC Grovesnor gain their first league win of the season with a 6-1 victory over visitors Fromes Hill. Grovesnor's goals came from Adrian Waller, Darren Hobbs, Gareth Hobbs, the goal of the game a thunderous shot from 30 yards by Simon Scollan and two from Will Jordan. Injury-hit Hill put up a spirited display and scored a deserved goal when James Howard netted from the spot.

Division Two continued with its twists and turns at the top of the table which leaves only one point separating four teams after last week's games.

The top two teams met at New Street when second-placed Dynamo Ledbury entertained leaders Bell Inn 98 in an entertaining game which finished all square at 1-1.

Dynamo took the lead when Matt Grey beat the offside trap to score. The equaliser came following an indirect free kick for a back pass which saw Nick Welch hammer the ball home from close range when the ball was touched to him. There was no more scoring but on the balance of play Dynamo were grateful to man of the match goalkeeper Mark Davies to earn them a point.

Starting the day in third place Cross Keys not only missed the chance to go top but they actually dropped to fourth in the table courtesy of an unexpected 4-2 defeat at the home of youngsters Perowne Park Rangers.

Keys actually took the lead through Jamie Thomas before firstly Dean Barmby chested the ball down from a right wing cross to volley the ball home, followed by Sebi Kotlazewski scoring a fine individual effort to give Perowne the lead. Jamie Thomas scored again to make it 2-2 at half time.

The young home side came out for the second half and took their visitors by surprise some quick football and they regained the lead when Daniel Geisler flicked the ball to Sebi Kotlazewski to slot in.

Perowne rode their luck with Cross Keys missing several good opportunities before the youngsters made the result safe in the 88th minute when a long ball upfield from a Perowne defender saw the Keys goalie and one of his defenders collided to leave Dean Barmby with the simple task of notching his second goal.

With all the teams above them having problems fourth-placed Madresfield took the opportunity to move up to third and improve their goal average with a 17-0 victory at Great Malvern. Goals came from Wayne Eggerton, Stewart Preece, two each for Rob Barnett and Ty Fisher a hat-trick from Steve Brookes and eight from Adam Morse. If Madresfield win their game in hand they will go clear at the top of the division to become the fourth team to lead the table this season.

The other game in this division was a close-fought affair between Vauxhall AFC and visitors Cavalry Arms which ended 4-3 to Vauxhall thanks to goals from Jason Towers, Andrew Gibbs, Carl Gurney and an own goal from Andi Jones with the visitors goals coming from Colin Stowe and two from Rob Jones.

Division One sides Club AC 30, Talbot Head and Morgan Aero 8 are all involved in WFA cup matches this weekend.
