ACCOUNTANT David Phillips has been elected to fill the gap as Herefordshire County Cricket's treasurer following the decision of David Wood to step down from the post.
Phillips, who was voted in at the county's annual meeting at the Green Dragon Hotel in Hereford on Tuesday, was involved in local cricket as Kington's scorer for many years and also scored once for the county club at Dorset.
"He trained at Rabjohns, who are our auditors, and we are delighted to have got him on board," said secretary Peter Sykes.
Malcolm Morgan has been elected to chair the cricket committee following the resignation of Bryan Smith.
Luctonians stalwart Mor-gan takes over the final year of Smith's three-year tenure of office.
The club are launching a Vice-Presidents' scheme for next season to generate support.
More news of this and other items from the meeting will appear next week.
