HEREFORDSHIRE Record Office has been closed for its annual stock-take. It will re-open on December 5.
Although the public will be unable to visit the office in person, staff will still answer telephone, letter and email enquiries.
The two-week closure provides an opportunity to check catalogues and film and fiche holdings to ensure that they're in correct order and to highlight any which need replacing.
Staff will also be processing new microfilms of previously unfilmed parish registers including those of Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury.
When re-opened the office will feature new automatic doors, a redecorated entrance hall and new display facilities.
