WORK got underway this week on road safety improvements to the A49 at Dinmore Hill.
The Highways Agency scheme involves laying an improved anti-skid surface and new white lining on the road. Work will be carried out overnight only, between 8pm and 6am under a full road closure. Work is expected to continue for about four weeks.
The A49 will be closed between its junctions with the Hope-under-Dinmore road on the north side of Dinmore Hill and the Bodenham road on the south side. A diversion route has been agreed with Herefordshire Council via the A417 and the A465, which will be fully sign-posted.
