LEOMINSTER MP Bill Wiggin met concerned residents and traders to discuss their traffic calming ideas for Newtown Crossroads.
Those present in Yarkhill explained to Mr Wiggin why they wanted a roundabout and not traffic lights placed at the troubled junction and the MP tended to agree.
"With the roundabout at Burley Gate and the traffic lights at Trumpet we can already see which is the better option," he said.
"I know the council feel a roundabout would be out of their limits financially, but I am going to ask them to reconsider."
"The safety of my constituents is my biggest priority and I don't think we should economise when lives are being put at risk," he added.
