Hereford won an eventful match at Cheltenham Civil Service in the West Clubs' Women's League Severn Division when, after injuries had reduced the home side to nine players, they conceded with the score at 1-0.
Hereford had much the better of the first half but were unable to find the net despite a number of chances to do so.
The city side were on top again at the start of the second period but this time opened the scoring when a great solo run by Jess Lambert provided the chance for Gemma Stevens to hit home.
With Hereford on top, Cheltenham were reduced to 10 players after one was forced off with an ankle injury and when a second had to leave the field with a nasty knock to the head, the home side conceded the game.
Ten-player Leominster suffered their first defeat of the season when they went down 5-0 to unbeaten league leaders Cheltenham 2nd.
The Leominster defence battled bravely and goalkeeper Jo Rusling made a number of good saves but Cheltenham took their chances well to race into a four-goal interval lead.
Leominster fought back well after the break and applied considerable pressure to the Cheltenham defence but luck was not on their side in front of goal.
Cheltenham eventually made their numerical advantage count again near the end with their final goal from a short corner.
Despite also fielding only 10 players, Ross-on-Wye still managed a vital 2-1 win over lowly Bretforton.
Ross took the lead in the first period with a fine goal from Kate Cameron who picked the ball up in her on half and ran through to score.
Bretforton increased the pressure after half-time and goalkeeper Chris Harris made a number of saves before the visitors finally pulled level.
Ross, however, were not to be denied their win and a second goal from Cameron sealed the points.
Hereford are now five points clear in Severn Division 2 after registering their seventh success in seven outings with a 3-0 win at Shipton Oliffe.
After a goalless first period in which the Shipton goalkeeper often came to her side's rescue, Hereford opened the scoring in the second half when Dwyn Jones' through ball found Rachel Wreyford who crossed for Helen Lewis to score with an excellent strike.
Shortly afterwards another Jones through ball found Lisa Ferneyhough who rounded the goalkeeper to put the ball into the back of the net.
With five minutes to go, Jones herself found the net after Kate Powis and Cath Goodwin combined to give her a penalty corner strike.
Colwall returned to winning ways in the same division with a comprehensive 6-2 success against St Gregory's.
Coral Handley got the villagers underway with two goals in quick succession, both from long range shots. Steph Fitzgibbon also found the net before the interval but the home side also scored twice to leave the tally at 3-2 at the turnaround.
Colwall piled on the pressure at the start of the second period and Fitzgibbon soon registered her second from close range and Gemma Richards put the result beyond doubt with a good shot following a Handley cross.
There was still time for Sam Shail to get her name on the scoresheet, however, when she deflected another Handley cross into the roof of the net.
