Hereford put an end to their recent losing run by picking up an important point at bottom club Yatton with a 1-1 draw in the Gerrard West of England and South Wales League North Division 1.
The city side turned in a solid first-half showing but were unable to convert any of the chances they created before the interval.
Yatton stepped up the pace after the break and their pressure paid off when they found a player free in front of goal who slotted home.
But the strike only served to spur Hereford on and they spent most of the game in the Yatton half, finally receiving their reward 10 minutes from the end when skipper Colin Amos scored from a short corner.
Leaders UWIC carried too much fire power for Leominster in North Division 2 and left Bridge Street Sports Centre with a 7-3 win.
The visitors took an early two-goal lead and although Josh Watkins pulled one back, UWIC scored again to lead 3-1 at the break.
Rob Goodman scored from a short corner to reduce arrears and, although UWIC hit back quickly, another goal from Watkins narrowed the margin to a single goal once again.
But with injuries to skipper Dave Harvey and James Dunn hampering the home side's efforts, UWIC pulled away in the closing stages to record a conclusive win.
Gloucester City 4th took advantage of Hereford 2nd being temporarily reduced to 10 men through injury to snatch a 2-2 draw in North-East West District 1.
Hereford had taken the lead when Richard Brown made ground down the left and crossed for Dan Little to find the net at the far post.
Gloucester soaked up a good spell of Hereford pressure after the break and then hit back with Tim Miller off the field to break away to score twice.
But the injured Miller returned to the pitch and his bravery paid dividends when he received the ball from another fine run by Brown to level the scores.
Leominster 2nd visited leaders Westbury & UB 4th and went down to a 2-0 defeat.
Hereford 3rd bounced back from a bad patch to register a 2-1 win over visiting Winchcombe in North-East West District 2.
The young Hereford side made a good start with Charlie Jones controlling the midfield and took the lead when Richard Green put Dave Price in to beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
Winchcombe levelled soon after but Hereford were unable to profit from the visitors temporarily being reduced to nine men, although Richard Wenham struck narrowly wide and Ashley Moore hit the post.
Hereford's pressure finally paid off, however, when man-of-the-match Price latched on to a precise pass from Dan Bridges to flick the ball over the goalkeeper's pads and into the goal.
Leominster 3rd won 4-3 against North Bristol 5th in North-East West District 4.
Neil Stokes, on his debut, Steve Mumford and Andy Connop fired Leominster into a 3-1 half-time lead but the visitors fought back to level after the break with Teji Sondi completing his hat-trick.
But Leominster continued to battle away and eventually secured the points when Connop scored his second from a short corner.
Hereford 4th were left disappointed in the same division after missed chances and defensive errors left them with just a point from a 2-2 home draw with Westbury & UB 6th.
Phil Cottier and Chris Moody were their scorers, while Peter Preece had a good game in goal.
