PARISH COUNCIL - Bishopstone Group Parish Council comprising Kenchester, Bishopstone, Bridge Sollars, Byford and Mansell Gammage met at the Lord Nelson Inn when the annual precept was set at £2575 an increase of 3% on last year to allow for inflation. In response to the Draft Integrated Risk Management Plan issued by Hereford and Worcester Combined Fire Authority the clerk was asked to write and invite a representative to give a short talk at their next meeting.

VILLAGE PLAN UPDATE - The sub-committee has produced a draft copy of the proposed Village Plan. This has been e-mailed to Herefordshire Council and The Countryside Agency and are waiting for a response. The sub-committee formally requested the Parish Council to call a public meeting so that Bridge Sollars Church may be recognised as the possible community centre. The meeting is to be planned for early next year. It was also proposed to start holding learning evenings in the new year, to include a whole range of subjects like computers, painting and reflexology.

PASSING PLACES - A letter has been received from Herefordshire Council asking the parish council to identify the car passing places they would like to see made on the lane between Bishopstone and Kenchester.

PARISH STATUS - It was agreed that the parish council would discuss fully the implications of attaining Quality Parish Status at their next meeting. The next meeting was arranged for January 15, 2004.

CHRISTINGLE SERVICE - This service for children will take place in Bridge Sollars Church on Saturday at 3.30pm.

BISHOPSTONE CHURCH - The United Benefice Service will be held at Bishopstone Church on Sunday starting at 10am.

VILLAGE LOTTERY - Carol and John Very with their number 22 were the £25 winners of the draw on Saturday.
