n David Lees won Kington's Christmas stableford with 45 points but it needed a countback to decide the outcome.

Both Kington teams were at home in their first-leg Hargrove Trophy matches, with the A team beating Bridgnorth A 2-1 and the B team losing 2-1 to Herefordshire A.
Kington also played Bridgnorth in the latest round of the Seniors' Scratch League and used their local knowledge to gain a 3-0 win, but the return will be a testing affair over the Shropshire club's tricky course.
Peter Bruton and Dave Hart put together a splendid score of 50 points to win the weekend pairs better-ball stableford. Phil Jones and Adrian Gale took second place on countback from Dave Haley and Barry Wilson after both pairs had scored 48 points.

n There could be a new look to Ross-on-Wye Seniors if their new captain, Colin Burchell, follows up a suggestion that there should be compulsory match shirts.
Burchell, installed at a well-attended annual meeting, welcomed John Hebdon as his vice-captain and spoke of other ideas such as monthly medals, fun competitions and a Layton Cup addition which could be considered.
Retiring captain Tom Moore spoke of his pride at being in office in the club's centenary year. He said that the seniors' excellent playing record of the past year had been made possible by the long periods of fine weather.
The traditional 16-hole competition, with partners drawn, preceded the meeting. Results: 1 David Rees and Arthur Stonadge 36 pts, 2 Gordon Powell and Brian Marfell 35, 3 Brian Webb and Roy Jones 35.
n Burghill Valley Seniors' stableford was won by Les Amos with 38 points, closely followed by John Tyler on 37, with Charles Mathew beating veteran Bob Faulkner on third-place countback after both had posted 35 points.
New seniors captain Wilf Jones and his partner John Freeman won the opening game in a round-robin competition at Leominster, but the home team went on to win all the remaining games.
