TWO little lads picked out the perfect tree for the St Michael's Hospice 'Light up a Life' Christmas services, in memory of their Nana who died earlier this year.
Jordan and Alex Reading helped mum, Caroline, choose the 25ft-tall tree from the Garnons estate at Byford.
It will be the centrepiece outside Hereford Cathedral for St Michael's Hospice campaign when people can sponsor a light to remember lost or absent loved ones.
The boys' dear Nana, Marjorie Weaver, died of cancer at the hospice and Caroline, with husband Neil, will be with their sons at the service knowing one of the twinkling lights represents her life.
Marjorie, who was also a hospice volunteer, loved working in the charity shop on Tuesdays, said Caroline.
Fast approaching their first Christmas without her, Caroline says the family will eat out this year, because 'it won't be the same now she has gone'.
Fond memories of 'working on the farm with her mum, a lifetime of Christmas Eves and loads of things that you wouldn't think about really,' will stay with Caroline forever.
"You still don't want to believe they have gone even though you know - that's the reminder they are not here anymore."
"We all thought the world of her and she will be missed by the whole family," said Caroline.
"She was kind, helpful, warm considerate and special."
