A BOGUS gardener walked away with £140 after failing to fulfil promises of tree cutting work in Hereford.
The man, who is 40-50 years old, called at a Kingsway home and offered gardening services to an elderly resident at 10am on Wednesday, November 12.
The victim handed over the money after the fraudster produced slips of paper with the words 'Tree cutting, clearing and taking away' printed on them.
The man, who never returned, is about 5ft 8ins, medium build, has a local accent and short black hair. He wore a white collared shirt under a navy blue jacket. Anyone else approached is asked to contact PC Tony Lewis on 08457 444888.
