Leominster'S annual charity quiz ended with a nailbiting finish as 20 teams battled to win the Wiseway Cup.

The winners, with 69 points, were the Houdinis captained by town clerk John Wesley. Just one point separated the champions from three other teams who tied for second place before taking part in a fun tiebreaker.

Colin Tether who organised the event at the Royal Oak Hotel on behalf of Leominster Lions said more than £300 was raised.

The cash would boost Leominster Scouts and Guides, the cause that mayor Janet Atkinson has chosen to help in her mayoral year. Ms Atkinson awarded prizes at the quiz night and thanked the Lions for their efforts.
