EARLIER this year they were doing it in Borneo. This month they are doing it again, but in Hereford, much nearer home.
Three friends have dedicated a year to raising money to help ensure the building of the Acorns Children's Hospice.
A Christmas Ball in the Town Hall at the end of the month is the latest venture.
Two of the three friends work at the Much Birch Surgery, Glenys Willis as practice manager and Danielle Marsh in reception. The trio is completed by Cathy Dobson who works at Hunters Lodge in Wormelow.
In May the three went to Borneo, sharing a tent and walking in the foothills there for a week in a major drive to raise cash.
They were helped by many friends and supporters in villages round the surgery who held their own fund raising events to back them up.
As a result £8,000 went into the Acorns fund.
Now Glenys, Danielle and Cathy are in the throes of organising the Christmas Ball in the Town Hall on November 29 - a black tie dinner dance complete with cabaret.
Again local people are rallying round, with fresh produce for Danielle and her friend Sonia Hodgekiss-Jones to prepare and cook for a splendid meal.
The friends are hoping to sell 100 tickets at £25 each and they are available from Cathy on 01981 540185.
