The theme of next year's Ledbury Town Carnival, the 30th to be held since the popular event was revived, will be 'Ledbury Goes to Hollywood'.
The celebration of films and musicals on August Bank Holiday Monday is expected to attract up to 10,000 people and inspire some fascinating floats.
The theme was chosen at last week's annual meeting of Ledbury Carnival Association. This took place at the Market House and was attended by just 15 people.
The disappointing turnout led association chairman Steve Clegg to appeal for more community support.
He said: "A small committee was formed to organise next year's carnival, albeit with some key roles unfilled. Future carnivals will require more people to help, both with the organisation and on the day itself.
"However, there were three new volunteers at the meeting and it is hoped that more people will come forward."
Mayor Keith Francis said the carnival was an important event on Ledbury's social calendar.
He said: "It should continue. It provides a great atmosphere in the town on the day.
"I thank the carnival committee for all their efforts and I hope that next year's carnival will be another great success. I urge local people to support it."
The 2003 carnival made a small profit, thanks to support from local businesses and people giving generously to the bucket collection on the day.
Local charities and organisations with stalls raised more than £5,000 for their own funds.
