I WRITE with regard to the proposed children's centre for Leominster.
As a parent I applaud the efforts of Sure Start to ensure every family with children aged up to four has access to their services regardless of their background.
As a Sure Start parent I am very concerned that if the building of the family centre is delayed too long funds from government will be lost, as there is a time limit and a future valuable asset will be lost.
We have been actively looking for suitable sites and after various setbacks have been given the go-ahead to submit our planning application.
Included in the family centre will be a nursery for desperately needed places as well as a much-needed crche which can be used by families using the leisure centre and swimming pool to leave their children in a safe environment.
I understand about the potential congestion problems and can assure you this is being addressed.
CAROL JENKINS, SureStart parent, Leominster.
