MANCHESTER United's visit to play Ledbury Town at the New Street Ground generated £10,000 for Ledbury Cottage Hospital and St Michael's Hospice.
Those were the local charities chosen by brothers Matthew and Richard McCoig-Lees for the memorial match to their parents, Martin and Denise, and younger brother Ryan, who were all killed on their way to Manchester Airport in a tragic accident in July.
The family were all Man Utd fans and the Red Devils agreed to come to Ledbury with a reserve team to play the tribute fixture, which they won 4-2.
"They were great ambassadors for the game and for their club," said club official Derek Durham. "There was a huge crowd for the game, but no hassle, and the Man Utd players were happy to sign autographs and footballs to help raise funds for charity."
