Tributes have been paid to Jed Williams, artistic director of the Brecon Jazz Festival, who died on November 10 aged 51.
Programme director for the jazz festival from its inauguration in 1984 until this year, John Ellis Dowell Williams, affectionately known as Jed, was also responsible for The Four Bars Inn, the home of live jazz in Cardiff.
The Brecon festival's Andy Eagle said: "He turned Brecon Jazz into one of Europe's finest festivals."
Born and educated in Cardiff, he was a founder member of the Welsh Jazz Society and JazzUK, a bi-monthly publication.
Herefordshire artist Peter Manders, whose caricatures of jazz musicians have been used by JazzUK, remembers Jed from the seventies, when Hereford had its own jazz club.
Jed leaves a wife, Carolyn. His funeral took place in Roath, Cardiff on Tuesday.
