Pegasus Juniors 2 Gloucester United 3
PEGASUS twice let slip the lead to present bottom-placed Gloucester with their first win of the season in the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League Premier Division in midweek.
Pegasus, however, made a bright start against the only side below them in the table and opened the scoring in the early stages when Rob Laurie scored with a thumping header from a Laurence Helme free-kick.
Gloucester levelled against the run of play when Dean Crawley outpaced the home defence to round goalkeeper Matt Taylor and score from a narrow angle.
Undeterred, Pegasus hit back and regained the lead with the goal of the night. Matt Gray received Pete Williamson's 30-yard pass and crossed for Gavin Stone to guide a header past goalkeeper Nick Blackeway.
The second half proved a serious anticlimax for Pegasus, however, as Jamie Inch levelled on the hour from a corner before another flag-kick saw Joe Eggleton scramble in the winner.
l Pegasus have signed former Leominster Town and Wellington goalkeeper Scott Hodgetts.
