Coventry Schools 1 Hereford Schools 2
TWO early goals helped Hereford Schools to an impressive win as their Midlands Under-14 League season got underway again.
With Craig Jones, Steve Smith and skipper James Upcott controlling the midfield, Hereford dominated the opening stages.
The large home crowd were still stunned, however, when Upcott raced 60 yards before passing to Bobby Terrett who controlled neatly before netting the first goal on 15 minutes.
Upcott also had a role in the second goal shortly afterwards when his cross paved the way for Joe Myatt to smash the ball home.
Hereford should have made the game safe in the second period when Terrett was twice denied by good saves. But Coventry reduced arrears in the closing stages when they found the back of the net after a free-kick had hit the bar.
