DISABLED footballers had a chance to show off their skills in a Disability Football Festival at Hereford Leisure Centre last week.
Herefordshire's disability sports officer Phil Hall, who organised the festival in conjunction with the Herefordshire FA, said that the idea of the day was to assemble all of the county's disabled footballers with a view to setting up clubs.
More than 50 players registered to take part in the competition which featured two sections, one for those aged between six and 15 and the other for the over-16s.
"Fourteen of the 35 pupils at Westfield School in Leominster attended and we had people aged from 16 to 45 there for the second session, including one in a wheelchair and one with a walking frame, so we had an excellent mix," said Phil Hall.
"We're now hoping to set up weekly coaching sessions for both juniors and seniors and to get clubs like FC Phoenix and Westfields, both of which have already shown an interest, involved."
