FUND RAISING -The villages of Bredwardine and Brobury, with a combined population of less than 200 have had a busy year raising money for two important projects, repairs to the ancient Church and a feasibility study for the replacement of the tumbledown village hall.
Fund raising events have included a flower festival, a summer fete, an outdoor screening of the 'Last Night of the Proms', a village Barbecue and sponsored walks. So far the church has raised about £2,800 and the Village Hall Committee some £3,000 including grants from Herefordshire Council and the Herefordshire Partnership.
The final event of the year is to be a concert in the church on Saturday, November 29, at 7.30pm, with a theme of English Music, Songs and Poetry. The star attraction is Peter Dyke, the assistant organist from Hereford Cathedral. He will be supported by Michael Miller a lyric tenor soloist and Elsie Harberd, who will be reading a selection of poems. Further information about this event may be obtained from churchwarden, Mrs G A MacKenzie on 01981 500606.
